SFR Acquires Dragon Dice from Wizards of the Coast

SFR Inc. has purchased the rights for the collectable dice game Dragon Dice from Wizards of the Coast. This acquisition includes all intellectual properties, remaining inventory, and artwork.

Production of Dragon Dice, which was voted "Adventure Game of the Year" by Games Magazine when it premiered in 1995, was put on hold when Wizards of the Coast acquired the game in 1998. Despite this hiatus in production, however, the pouplar dice game still enjoys a strong, loyal following.

"This is a win-win situation for Wizards of the Coast, SFR, and fans of the Dragon Dice game", said Dave Papay, Vice President of SFR. "It allows Wizards (of the Coast), to focus on their core product lines, and gives SFR the opportunity to concentrate on the further development of the Dragon Dice game."

SFR plans to resume development of the Dragon Dice game with an initial release of three new, limited edition "Dragonkin Champion" dice in the first quarter of 2001. This will be followed by a major game expansion called "Treefolk" in the summer of 2001. Other products are planned for subsequent release, including the long-awaited "Champions" and "Unearthly" expansions.
