Myth: The Fallen Lords

Myth: The Fallen Lords brings you a world where the living are fighting a losing battle against the risen dead. In this fully 3-D real-time strategy game of epic battle, you direct the armies of the North as they struggle to withstand the onslaught of the Fallen Lords, a cadre of ancient and terrible sorceror-generals who are laying waste to the land with legions of vicious beasts and the tireless undead.

A complex story, narrated by one of your units, takes shape as the campaign against the Fallen progresses over months and hundreds of miles. You also battle betrayal and cowardice in your own ranks, while rivalries amongst the Fallen can turn to your advantage. Cell-animated movies and strategic battle maps drive the plot and enrich a mintutely detailed fantasy world.

All the while, a comet hanging in the Northern sky casts its fearful glare over the spreading horror. An eternal cycle of mythic bloodshed begins anew ...

FEATURES

Real 3-D

Playing on a 3D battlefield fundamentally changes the rules of strategy gaming. Learning how to use the natural defenses of the terrain, and fighting to get the high ground, becomes as important as the formations and maneuvers you use against the enemy. Myth: The Fallen Lords for the first time gives you a real landscape for combat, where archers fire farthest from hilltops and explosives roll downslope, where heavily armored troops struggle through marshes and the unbreathing undead sneak along river bottoms.

Point of View

In order to play effectively in this 3D world you need a mobile point of view, that not only flies over the field but can rotate to display the action from all angles and zoom in on the slaughter. Myth: The Fallen Lords' multimetric camera gives you unlimited freedom to view the game from the coolest perspective.

Physics

But making the battlefield real requires more. Every flame and lightning bolt lights up the ground, which becomes charred by craters, littered with dropped weapons and stained with blood. Reflections in the rippling water mark your passage, just as the land ripples with the impact of massive shockwaves. Rain and snowfall affect your fighting, while mists and ash conceal your movement.

Units

In this world you command a wide variety of warriors, from a handful to hundreds at a time, who fight the Fallen Lords with fire, steel, magic and cunning. A fusion of action and strategy, surviving in Myth: The Fallen Lords demands quick reflexes and calculated tactics. It takes discipline to keep your head in the chaos of warfare, and bravery to send your troops into the teeth of the melee.

The Campaign

As a single player, you direct the armies of the living as they struggle to resist the onslaught of the Fallen Lords, a cadre of long-dead generals. As the story progresses, you must also battle betrayal and cowardice, while rivalries amongst the enemy can be used against them.

Networking

But you needn't fight alone. Free Internet multiplayer games via "bungie.net" let you conduct epic battles with your friends, whether in teams or every-man-for- himself. A wealth of multiplayer games let you play familiar scenarios like King of the Hill, and novelties like Dwarf-head Rugby.
