Where to Find Monster Manuals Question: "Do you know where
I can find the original AD&D Monster Manuals (or, if Answer: Some months, half the questions we get are either from people trying to figure out how to sell their old Advanced Dungeons and Dragons books or from people trying to obtain some. We are going to have to figure out how to get these people in tough with each other ... Probably the best place to look for such books is a hobby shop or used bookstore that sells used games and gaming accessories; most towns have at least one, or one nearby. We have done some spot-checking at a number of such stores on the East Coast and the original 1st Edition AD&D books, the Monster Manual manual included, tend to cost up to $14 each (with an original price of $8.95 to $12.95 for most of them). Another good bet would be to prowl the online auctions, especially at Amazon.com. We bet you woudn't have to check every other day for more than a week or two before you find what you are looking for. And, of course, 2nd Edition AD&D books are readily available in many hobby shops, most major bookstores, and even through the AD&D section of our own online store.
