A Skirmisher Top Pick Review

Lion Statuette.

Kung Fu Fighting is a martial arts card game for two to six players. The object is to eliminate all your opponents by inflicting enough damage to bring their 20 points of Chi (life) to zero.

Game play is very straightforward, you can play cards that attack or defend as well as cards that enhance these attacks and defenses. The simplicity of its mechanics allows for the game to played at a rapid and exciting pace. The names of the cards manage to capture the fun of Hong Kong cinema quite well. You could enhance a kick attack, for example, by playing "running up the wall" and then heal yourself one point by striking a "dramatic pose."

There is only a minimal amount of strategy involved. For the most part, it is just fast, mindless, fun. Games are fairly fast and seem to take about 15 to 30 minutes to play, taking longer when you add more players.

Included in the box are six player templates, six glass chi markers, and a 99 card deck. All of the materials are printed with a rice paper coloration and cartoonish black line art illustrating the various cards.

Kung Fu Fighting is an enjoyable game with a lighthearted approach and a very easy learning curve. Recommended.
